Gorrell Farms is a family-owned farming operation managed by Keith, Marcia, Bill, and Rob Gorrell. The operation has been passed down through the Gorrell family, and hopefully will continue to do so through coming generations.
MEET THE FAMILY MEMBERS
Keith
Keith is the manager of the operation. A farm kid his whole life, he helped build the farm with his father growing up. Keith always wanted to continue farming for his occupation, and as he went to the University of Missouri that dream never changed. Graduating in 1984 with a degree in Agricultural Economics, Keith returned to the farm he still operates today. An avid Mizzou, Kansas City Royals and Chiefs fan, Keith loves watching sports when he’s not busy on the farm.
Marcia
Marcia (Pickett) Gorrell was born and raised a city girl in Kansas City, Missouri. She had never really stepped foot on a farm until she met Keith at the University of Missouri. They quickly developed a strong relationship and as they say, the rest is history. Graduating in 1984 with a degree in Agricultural Journalism, Marcia and Keith married in August 1984. Although farming isn’t in Marcia’s genes, she picked up on it very quick. For many years she helped with the day to day activities including running large tractors and driving semi trucks in the fall. In 2016, after both sons returned to the operation, Marcia returned to the University of Missouri in 2016 to pursue a dream of obtaining a Master’s degree in Social Work. After graduating in May 2018, she is now a Social Worker at the Harry S. Truman VA Hospital, working with Veterans.
Bill
Born in 1988, Bill has always wanted to carry on the family tradition of farming. From a young age he was “carpet farming” with toy tractors and riding on the tractor and combine with dad. Bill attended Northwest Missouri State University, graduating in 2011 with a degree in Agricultural Science and a minor in Precision Agriculture. Bill married his wife Jamie in 2013, and the two now live just a half a mile up the road from the main farming operation. A John Deere tractor junkie, Bill loves working on antique John Deere tractors when not working on the farm.

Rob
Like Bill, Rob has always wanted to farm with his dad and brother. Born in 1993, Rob was thrown on a tractor from a very young age. When he was just six weeks old he was riding in a tractor in a car seat during harvest. Rob graduated from the University of Missouri in 2015 with degrees in Agricultural Economics and Agricultural Systems Management, and a minor in Plant Sciences. Rob lives just a few miles away from the main farming operation. He and Kayla were married in November, 2018, and she teaches at the local middle school. When not working, Rob and Kayla enjoy playing golf and watching Mizzou and Kansas City Sports teams.
